Ergonomics

Human’s well-being in the working environment
Ergonomics is the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of physical and cognitive interactions between humans and objects, in their use context. It stands out in:

  • physical ergonomics: deals with the physical load on the human body, and physiological and bio mechanical characteristics as relate to physical activity. Posture study, efforts and manual handling of loads, component handling, operating spaces and layout. In more general terms, the incidence of work environment factors on the operator's wellbeing.

  • cognitive ergonomics: perception and processing of information, ease of learning and training, ease of interaction with a product / object / machine and the pleasure of the experience itself.

  • organizational ergonomics: work design, activity time, relational climate and communication.

ERGONOMICS OF WORKSTATIONS

In manufacturing industrial production processes, the frequency of repetitive movements over time may cause the operator alteration upper limb muscles.

The use of ergonomic workstations in the workplace is important for preventing musculoskeletal disorders of the operator, caused by repeated mechanical stresses, the most famous is carpal tunnel syndrome.

To eliminate the repeated movement effort in the bolting operations we have designed torque reaction arms with accessories which allow the arm to be adapted to the operator's specific position. The ZeroG arm on the other hand, is a support in reducing workers' efforts in manual handling of loads.

The respect of human capabilities - in the work organization - reduces physical and mental overloads by increasing worker motivation and reducing tiredness, with company advantages reducing turn-over, keeping inside the company the know-how and the employee’s professionalism.

All of these factors have a positive impact on product quality, human performance, and overall business productivity. Tool holders and adjustable height industrial workbench are utilized to improve the workplace organization, adapting to the operator's position and height.

Ergonomics also involves lighting workstations with the use of dynamic lights for workstations, adapting to different operator needs and linking to the various processing phases.

ERGOMOTRICITY

Ergonomicity is a technique to maintain and improve personal mobility in the workplace, increasing comfort, safety and efficiency. It is the prevention action of operator refers to: amount of work activity, magnitude of the forces employed and power developed.

Tool holders, "pick to light" systems and ergonomics stools can be used to maintain operator mobility.
